Finished 1st in the 5,00-meter and 2nd in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the LSC Championship. Finished 14th in the 5,000-meter with a personal best time of 14:21.33 and finished 15th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal best time of 8:56.09 at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Finished 3rd in the 1,500-meter with a personal best time of 3:57.59 at the Jo Meaker Classic. Finished 18th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase prelims at the NCAA Division II National Championships.
2022 Indoor: Finished 1st in the 3,000-meter, also placed 2nd in the 5,000-meter at the LSC Championships. Finished 2nd in the DMR at the Texas Tech Open. Ran a personal best of 4:18.56 in the mile at the Texas Tech Open. Collected two personal bests at the GVSU Big Meet, one in the 3,000-meter with a time of 8:24.43 and in the 5,000-meter with a time of 14:26.90.
2021 Cross Country: Finished 1st at the LSC Cross Country Championship. Finished 40th at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championship. Finished 27th at the NCAA Division II South Central Region County Championships with a personal best time of 31:14.6 in the 10k. Finished 1st at the ASU Blue & Gold Classic. Ran a personal best time of 23:53.8 in the 8k at the Louisville Classic. Ran a personal best time of 19:49.6 in the 4m at the Texas Tech Open.
2021 Outdoor: Ranked 32nd in the nation in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and 84th in the 5,000-meters. Earned Third Team All-Lone Star Conference honors after finishing 3rd in the 3,000m steeplechase. Also finished 4th in the 5,000m. Ran a personal best time of 14:30.67 in the 5,000m at the Bobcat Invitational. Ran a personal best time of 9:16.30 in the 3,000m steeplechase to win the event at the WT Last Chance.
2021 Indoor: Earned First Team All-Lone Star Conference honors after scoring 19 points at the indoor championships. Finished 2nd in the 5,000-meters followed by a 3rd place finish in the mile and 4th place finish in the 3,000-meters. Finished 4th in the 3,000m at the Washburn Open in a personal best time of 8:31.20.
2020 Cross Country: All-Lone Star Conference. Finished 2nd at the LSC Championships covering the 8,000-meter course in 25:04.6. Finished 7th at D2 XC National Invite after running 32:18.2 for 10,000-meters.
Iowa Central CC: Murwanashyaka ran cross country and track under the Tritons head coach Dee Brown where he received USTFCCCA All-American honors in cross country.
Como Park Senior High School: Ran cross country and track for Cougars under head coach Tim Kersey. Was named the Athlete of the Year his senior season, Placed third at the State Cross Country Championships. Holds the mile record with a time of 4:19 and two mile record at 9:20. Was the state runner up in the two mile.
Personal: Born Jan. 1, 1997. Son of Reniya Mukamusango. Brother to John, Florence, Reponse and Dina. His sister Florance also runs for WT. Plans to major in criminal justice at WT.
