At Oklahoma Panhandle State:
Velasquez joins the Buffs following one semester at Oklahoma Panhandle State in Goodwell, Oklahoma.

At Randall High School:
Velasquez registered a standout prep career at nearby Randall High School where he played in the middle infield while also pitching for the Raiders under former Buff Corey Hamilton. He was a First Team All-District selection at RHS while also excelling in the classroom as a member of the A-B Honor Roll.

Personal:
Born February 18, 2002. Son of Eli & Angelica Velasquez and he has four siblings: Isaac, Micah, Noah and Luke. Majoring in Physical Therapy at West Texas A&M.
