Thompson Mayberry Named Associate A.D. and General Manager for Football

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M Athletics has announced the appointment of Thompson Mayberry as Associate A.D. and General Manager for Football, a newly established role designed to support the continued growth and success of the Buffalo Football program.
 
Mayberry transitions into the position after serving as Associate Athletic Director for Corporate Relations. As a WTAMU football alumnus with deep ties to the Amarillo-Canyon community, Mayberry brings a unique combination of institutional knowledge, relationship-building expertise, and passion for West Texas A&M Athletics to the role.
 
As General Manager for Football, Mayberry will focus on creating new revenue-generating opportunities for the program through name, image and likeness (NIL) initiatives, fundraising efforts, donor engagement, and other strategic funding opportunities. He will also assist with team travel coordination, recruiting operations, student-athlete development initiatives, and other administrative functions that enhance the day-to-day operations of the program.

The addition of the position represents another step in West Texas A&M Athletics ongoing efforts to enhance the student-athlete experience and provide Buffalo Football with the support needed to thrive in today's collegiate athletics environment.
 
Mayberry will begin his new responsibilities immediately.
