CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M men's basketball head coach
Tom Brown has announced the addition of San Antonio product Max George for the 2026-27 campaign.
Â
"Max came to our ID Camp and really made an impression; he was someone that heard about but really didn't know about. Max has a commitment to the game and you can see that in his play" said Brown "He earned his scholarship at our ID Camp and we are lucky to have him coming to WT next year. We are excited to welcome Max George to the program. He is a great young man with a bright future at West Texas A&M."
Â
George joins the Buffs following a stellar prep career at Antonian College Preparatory High School in San Antonio. The 6'4 guard was named the Player of the Game during the San Antonio Sports All-Star Game in March, scoring 18 points with four rebounds to lead his team to a 71-65 victory. George averaged 22 points, nine board and seven assists per game for the Apaches.Â
Â
Max is a great young man, he is one of the most competitive, consistent, smartest, skilled and hardest working players I've ever coached" said AP Elite Spartans head coach Andre Pitts "Has always been a great teammate and that is why players loved playing with him, he plays the game the right way. You have a good one in Max George!"
