CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M picked up a 3-2 extra-inning victory over the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas on Sunday afternoon to close out the regular season on a high note at Nolan Ryan Field in Kingsville, Texas.

The Javelinas struck first in the home half of the second inning, taking advantage of a WT defensive miscue as Easton Hewitt and Cian Garza scored to make it 2-0. The Buffs responded in the top of the third inning on a
Jacob Police RBI single to left field that plated
Jonluke Hobdy at 2-1.

WT tied up the game in the top of the sixth inning with
Anthony Picciano scoring from third base on a wild pitch. The Buffs sent the game into extra inning with Picciano coming up with the big swing, the first collegiate long ball for the redshirt freshman to leadoff the 10
th at 3-2.

Shea Lake claimed the win (5-1) for the Buffs, allowing no runs on just three hits with no walk and three strikeouts over the final 4.0 frames.

The Buffs are the sixth seed in the 2026 LSC Baseball Championships as they will travel to San Antonio, Texas for a best-of-three series against third-seeded St. Mary's beginning on Friday evening at Dickson Stadium.
