CANYON, Texas – The #11 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M shot 50% from the floor on Thursday night as they picked up a 65-50 Lone Star Conference road win against Texas A&M-Kingsville at the Steinke Center.

WT started strong with a quick 3-pointer by
Kyla Kane, assisted by
Claire Graham, setting the tone early. The team capitalized on turnovers and fast breaks, converting them into seven points, and shared the ball effectively with four assists in the quarter.
Taylor Haggan contributed with a layup to keep Texas A&M-Kingsville at bay. Defensively, the Lady Buffs were effective, collecting nine defensive rebounds and limiting their opponent's opportunities.

Taytum Bell each added points from the free-throw line and fast breaks, extending the lead to 18-8.

The Lady Buffs began the second quarter with a strong defensive performance, highlighted by
Henley West's block at 9:34, setting the tone for the visitors. Haggan's layup at 7:11, assisted by West, initiated a series of scoring drives that included a 6-0 run midway through the quarter. The visitors extended their control with a series of successful plays in the paint, including back-to-back layups from Graham and Haggan, pushing their lead further. The quarter closed with

Chloe Callahan's back-to-back 3-pointers, followed by
Kenadee Winfrey's contributions, further solidified the lead. Despite a push from the Javelinas, highlighted by Caitlyn Benally's 3-pointer and layup, the Lady Buffs maintained control.
