CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M Vice President of Athletics
Doug Lipinski has announced the addition of Josh Roberson to the university's athletic administrative staff as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Championship Integrity & Student-Athlete Excellence.

He brings experiences in compliance, NIL, and athletics administration that will make an immediate impact on our university" said Lipinski "As a former student-athlete he brings a level of competitive spirit and enthusiasm to his leadership."

Roberson comes to Canyon following three years as the Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. During his time at Wayne State, Roberson oversaw the compliance efforts of 17 NCAA sports and over 400 student-athletes while also leading all NIL initiatives for the WSU Athletic Department.

Originally from Highland Park, Michigan, Roberson came to Wayne State from Davenport University where he had served as the Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance. Prior to his tenure at Davenport, Roberson was the Youth Sports Program Manager for the University of Denver from March of 2021 to September of 2021.  He previously was the recreation supervisor at the Grand Rapids Kroc Center (2014-2017) and was the middle school athletic director for Wyoming Public Schools (2017-2020).

Roberson played college basketball at Grand Valley State University for two seasons (2009-11) before graduating from GVSU in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in Sports Leadership. He later received his master's degree in Sports Administration from Arkansas State University in 2020.

He and his wife, Caliyah, are the proud parents of two children, Jireh and Nissi.
