CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M softball rank its win streak to 12 on Sunday with a doubleheader sweep of Lubbock Christian. The Lady Buffs shut out the Lady Chaps 2-0 in game one behind a complete-game shutout from
Emilee Boyer. In game two, WT scored four unanswered runs late in the game to defeat LCU, 4-2.
The Lady Buffs hit the road for the first of six games away from Canyon. WT starts its road games at rival Eastern New Mexico on Friday, March 28 before traveling to Western New Mexico on Sunday.

Game one proved to be a pitcher's duel as
Emilee Boyer and Lubbock Christian's Teoni Lamb combined to allow just three base runners over the game's first three and a half innings.
The Lady Buffs would break the scoreless tie in the bottom of the fourth. A leadoff walk from
Lauren Granger and bunt single from
Kiley Avery advanced when
Abby Howell laid down a sacrifice bunt. The Lady Chaps would record their second out on a fielder's choice before a
Cadence Colborn walk loaded the bases. WT forced in a run when
Heaven Moreno worked a nine-pitch walk to bring in
Kiley Avery.
The Lady Buffs would manufacture another run in the bottom of fifth. Singles from
Kendall Selitzky, Granger, and Avery loaded the bases once again. Howell would drive in Selitzky with one out when the freshman lifted a sacrifice fly to right field. Another walk reloaded the bases for WT, but the Lady Buffs couldn't capitalize on the scoring opportunity.
Boyer continued to deal in the circle in the final two innings, shutting out the Lady Chaps.

After a scoreless first inning, LCU plated two runs in the top of the second as a pair of walks put traffic on the bases. An RBI single from Ashlinn Hamilton and an RBI double from Riley Flores put the Lady Chaps up 2-0 with the Lady Buffs coming to the plate.
The two-run lead for LCU held up until the bottom of the fourth when WT tied the game. A single and walk put two on with
Heaven Moreno coming to the plate. The Lady Chaps looked to have an out set up, but a fielding error loaded the bases for
Halie Stoneking. The junior outfielder laced a single back up the middle, tying the score at two.
WT took the lead an inning later when Granger powered a solo home run through the north wind. Stoneking would deliver an insurance run in the sixth on a solo shot to left center for a 4-2 lead.
In the circle, Selitzky recorded her sixth win of the year as the freshman worked three shutout innings with a strikeout and two hits allowed.
