CANYON, Texas – The #9 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M ran their win streak to 10 games on Thursday night as they claimed a 68-54 victory over the #23 Ferris State Bulldogs during the Hoops in Hawaii Classic at The Shark Tank on the campus of Hawaii Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii.

West Texas A&M began the first quarter with a strong defensive effort, securing 13 rebounds and forcing Ferris State into four turnovers.
Kyla Kane led the offensive charge with three 3-pointers, contributing significantly to the team's early lead.
Kenadee Winfrey added another 3-pointer, and
Taylor Haggan's layup extended the advantage. WT showcased effective ball movement, resulting in six assists and a 5-for-10 performance from beyond the arc. By the end of the quarter, the Lady Buffs maintained control, closing with a 22–15 lead over Ferris State.

WT started the second quarter by capitalizing on their defensive rebounds and translating them into scoring opportunities.
Henley West was instrumental, contributing both points and defensive stops. The team extended their lead with consistent inside scoring, including layups from Kane and
Randi Harding. The Lady Buffs maintained control throughout the quarter, outscoring Ferris State 17–4.

West Texas A&M began the third quarter with a strong inside presence, scoring eight points in the paint. Despite an early three-pointer by Mia Riley from Ferris State, WT responded with a layup by Haggan, assisted by Harding, to maintain momentum.
Claire Graham added a three-point shot, extending the Lady Buffs' lead.

Ferris State attempted to close the gap with three successful three-pointers in the quarter. However, West Texas A&M capitalized on turnovers and maintained scoring pressure with contributions from
Karley Motschenbacher and Kane, who hit a three-pointer at 3:31. The quarter ended with the Lady Buffs leading 57–35, after a late jumper by Kane.

WT opened the fourth quarter with a strong defensive presence, highlighted by Winfrey's 3-pointer at 7:40, assisted by Motschenbacher. Despite Ferris State's efforts to close the gap with free throws and a 3-pointer by Mara Mitchell, the Lady Buffs maintained their lead.

Kane contributed a jumper at 3:27, and Motschenbacher's two free throws at 2:28 extended the advantage. Winfrey's layup at 1:04 further solidified the lead, despite Ferris State's late 3-pointer by Emma Schierbeek. West Texas A&M concluded the game maintaining a substantial lead, finishing the quarter with an 11-point effort to end the game 68–54.

Kane scored 18 points, converting four 3-pointers and adding six rebounds. Winfrey recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Motschenbacher contributed with two steals and four assists. Haggan added 11 points and collected six rebounds while also tallying two steals.
