Buffalo Basketball Welcomes Logan Gibson for 2026-27

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M head men's basketball coach Tom Brown has announced the addition of Australian student-athlete Logan Gibson for the 2026-27 campaign.

"Logan is the type of player that makes others around him better, he can really play all five positions and is a very gifted player.  Logan is only going to get better as he develops here at WT, he will have the opportunity to play right away and develop his game. Getting to know Logan, he is a competitive person and that will only help in the development process" said Brown "We have had some special Australian players the last four or five years. Hayden Blankley played three years for us and is still currently playing professionally. Bob Griechen was on the LSC All-Freshman Team last season and is currently with powerhouse St. Cloud State. Noah Pagotto was Second Team All-LSC as well as LSC All-Freshman and the league's Academic Player of the Year.  Noah is currently playing for former rival East Texas A&M University (Commerce). We are very excited to add Logan Gibson to the Buff Family!"

Gibson is a 6'9" wing from Launceston, Tasmania, Australia that has impressed at Launceston College, leading the team to a State Championship in 2025. Gibson is a two-time Men's Most Valuable Player while being named the NBL1 Northwest Thunder Youth Player of the Year in 2025.

The talented guard has served as a training player for the Tasmanian Jackjumpers NBL squad while being named the Tasmania Under 22 Men's Most Valuable Player. Gibson was tabbed the Launceston College Sportsperson of the Year in 2025.

"Logan is the kind of player who makes everyone around him better. He competes hard, leads by example, and sets the tone every time he steps on the floor" said Launceston College head coach Angus Kitson "He's always vocal and you love going to battle with him because you know he's got your back. As a teammate, he's selfless, reliable, and the sort of bloke you want beside you in any game because he's as good a person as he is a player."
