CANYON, Texas – The #9 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M bounced back from a loss earlier in the afternoon as they closed the opening day of the Colorado Premier Challenge with a four-set win (25-17, 25-17, 20-25, 25-17) over the host #24 Regis Rangers in Denver, Colorado.

The Lady Buffs finished the match with 52 kills on 133 swings with 21 attack errors to hit .233 as a team with 49 assists, seven service aces, 65 digs and five blocks. Regis registered 47 kills on 139 attempts with 22 errors for a .180 attack percentage to go along with 42 assists, one ace, 51 digs and six blocks.

Angelina Oliver led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs as the Albuquerque native registered 13 kills on 22 swings with two attack errors to hit .500 on the afternoon,
Emma Becker and
Kaycee Cavanaugh had 11 kills each. Cavanaugh finished the match with 11 digs for a double-double,
Blair Moreland dished out a team-high 23 assists while
Bryli Contreras had 17 digs.

Halle Theis led all players with 15 kills as the Geneva, Nebraska product took 29 swings with just four errors for an attack percentage of .379 to go along with 16 digs and two blocks. Amelia Davis finished with 11 kills while Reagan Hickey dished out a match-high 36 assists with Bre Skala leading the way in the back row with 20 digs in the loss.

- Friday afternoon was the 26th all-time meeting on the court between the Lady Buffs and Rangers, WT is 14-12 in the series that dates back to 1980. The Lady Buffs are 5-4 all-time against Regis in Denver
