How It Happened
Scoring started slow inside the First United Bank Center as the two teams combined for 10 minutes nearly five minutes into the game. The Mustangs started to seize momentum in the game as the Buffs went cold from the field. After Midwestern State rattled off an 11-2 run to go up six. WT responded with an elongated 17-2 streak to regain the advantage. Over the closing minutes of the first half, the two teams exchanged points as the Buffs carried a 40-31 lead into halftime.

The WT lead hovered around 10 as Midwestern State traded points with the Buffs to open the second half. With 11:32 to play in the game, a Wise jumper sparked an 8-0 run to push the lead to 15 points. After the Mustangs snapped the streak, the Buffs rattled off another 10-0 run to put WT up by 21. Over the last five minutes of the game, the Buffs ran out the clock where Cameron Bell capped off the win with a three in front of the bench.
