CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Buffs suffered their first Lone Star Conference loss of the season against the Angelo State Rams at the Junell Center in San Angelo on Thursday night. The Buffs drop to 8-5 on the season and 6-1 in LSC play while Angelo State improves to 10-3 overall, 6-1 in LSC play.

Zach Toussaint led the Buffs offense with 20 points shooting 5-of-10 from the floor, 4-of-7 from the 3-point range and 6-of-6 at the charity stripe. Three other players reach double figures with

How It Happened
WT started the game on a 7-3 run before an and-one foul brought the game within three at the 15:38 mark. The Buffs responded with another run to extend their lead to nine. Angelo State threatened the lead as WT went over five and a half minutes without a made field goal. Following a media timeout, the Rams went on a 7-0 run, erasing the Buff lead. WT couldn't convert the final shot of the half as the teams went to the locker room tied at 30.
The Rams opened the second half on a 7-3 run to take their first lead of the night, but an
Addison Wallace jumper brought the Angelo State lead down to three at the first media timeout. ASU and WT continued the back-and-forth play to the 11:54 mark with neither team able to gain a definitive lead.
The Rams gained the momentum they were looking for, taking a 10-2 run into the under-eight media timeout.
Zach Toussaint ended the run with a corner three. Toussaint kept the ASU lead at single digits with another shot from deep, but the Rams sank a pull-up. With 2:45 in regulation, Wise made his floater attempt and drew the foul, bringing the Angelo State lead down to one. As the clock went under a minute to play, a three by Kevon Godwin pushed the Rams' lead to five. Angelo State sealed the game with key free throws down the stretch.
