TYLER, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M suffered a 10-0 decision to the No. 1 UT Tyler Patriots in the Lone Star Conference Quarterfinals on Friday evening at the Suddenlink Field in Tyler. 
 
The Lady Buffs will learn their postseason fate on Monday, May 9, during the NCAA Division II Softball Selection Show on NCAA.com at 9 a.m. CT. 
 
Brittni Rufus was hit by a pitch to lead off the quarterfinal matchup but the Patriots defense locked in as Ruby Salzman lined out to second for the double play.  Rufus went on to be the only base runner of the night for WT. 
 
UT Tyler opened scoring in the bottom of the first to take the reins and never looked back. The Patriots led off with two runs before Amanda Marek homered into left to make it 3-0 in the second. The Patriots took control of the game in the fourth scoring seven runs on four hits to secure the 10-0 run-rule victory.
 
Tatum Goff (8-3) was rewarded the victory throwing four strikeouts in the no-hitter while Heidi Vortherms (13-8) received the loss with five runs (five earned) on six hits with two strikeouts and two wild pitches.
