Brown Scores 23 to Lift No. 20 Buffs Past Cameron

LAWTON, Okla. – West Texas A&M's Julius Brown posted a season-high 23 points to lead the No. 20 Buffs to victory over Cameron in a non-conference battle on Saturday afternoon.  WT defeated the Aggies 85-72 to move to 20-5 on the season while CU dropped to 2-13 overall.

The Westerville, Ohio product went 7-of-15 on the floor while going 8-of-10 at the line with a 3-pointer to collect a game-high 23 to go along with six assists, three steals and a block.  Three additional Buffs reached double figures with Larry Wise scoring 16 and Zach Toussaint at 13.  Hayden Blankley registered 16 points and 10 rebounds to collect his first collegiate double-double.

Neither team was able to string together a substantial lead as the opening 14 minutes until the Buffs broke away with a nine-point lead.   With 5:37 left in the half, Larry Wise dropped a three to extend WT's lead to double figures, 36-24.  A jumper for Brown would push the score out to 44-32 at the half.

Brown reached 20 points at the 8:23 mark for WT to lead 72-52 but was immediately responded by a three from Colt Savage. The Buffs continued to add to the board as Hayden Blankley's dunk pushed the score back to a 20-point game.  The Aggies collected a 13-5 run to cut the lead to 10 but a jumper by Wise ended the drought.
