DENVER, Colo. – The No. 9 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M punched their ticket to the NCAA Division II Volleyball Elite Eight for the second consecutive season after defeating the nation's top ranked team MSU Denver in straight sets on Saturday night to capture the program's 15
th regional title. WT will advance to the national quarterfinals set for Dec. 1-3 in Seattle, Wash., while the No. 1 Roadrunners' season comes to an end with an overall 30-2 record.

The Numbers
WT outhit the nation's top team .336-.207 with 49 kills on 107 attempts with 13 errors while the Roadrunners collected 43 kills on 116 swings and 19 errors. The Lady Buffs had 48 digs in the victory along with 47 assists, three aces and six blocks. MSUD had 38 digs, 42 assists, six blocks and one ace from Amela Qershia.
Two Lady Buffs reached double-figure kills with
Torrey Miller (14) and
Abi Nash (13) while Nash hit for an outstanding .600 to go along with a match-high 13 digs for the double-double. Sophomore
Blair Moreland paced the regional champions with 21 assists while Miller and Taytum Stow each had three blocks at the net.
For the Roadrunners, Riley Anderson produced a match-high 19 kills in the loss, hitting .455 with 33 attempts and four errors. Delaney Eckhardt led with 21 assists while Ashlyn Cianciulli had nine digs, and Ember Canty and Maddy Williams each were credited two blocks.
The Milestones
- The Lady Buffs continue their postseason run moving to 55-25 overall during the NCAA Tournament with their 15th regional tournament title
- Saturday's victory marks the second NCAA regional title for head coach Kendra Potts who moves to 6-2 in the NCAA Tournament with an 88-10 career record for an incredible winning percentage of 89.8%
- Nash's fifth double-double in the Maroon & White brings the Lady Buffs season total to 20
