Team Effort Leads No. 12 West Texas A&M to Victory Over SWOSU

CANYON, Texas – In a non-conference matchup, the No. 12 West Texas A&M Lady Buffs elevated their win streak to nine after defeating Southwestern Oklahoma State in three straight sets on Tuesday.

The Numbers
WT registered a season-high .418 hitting-percentage in the sweep with 38 kills on 91 swings with nine errors to go along with 40 digs, 35 assists, 11 blocks and 11 aces. The Bulldogs had 21 kills on 91 attempts with 19 errors to hit .231 with 19 assists, 36 digs, six blocks, and one ace. 
 
Camy Jones and Angelina Oliver led the offense posting seven kills each while Katrina Johnson had a match-high 10 points against the Bulldogs. Blair Moreland paced the offense with 14 assists and Torrey Miller had a match-high six service aces. On defense, Bryli Contreras collected nine digs while Johnson had a match-high six blocks. 
 
For the Bulldogs, Lacy Mott hit .050 with six kills on 20 attempts with five errors and Terez Chavez had 11 assists.  Cameron Turner led with seven digs while Zoey Sparks had four blocks.

WT will hit the road this weekend to take on UAFS in Fort Smith, Ark. on Friday, Oct. 14 before traveling to Oklahoma City to go head-to-head with Oklahoma Christian on Saturday, Oct. 15. Following the adventures in Arkansas and Oklahoma, the Lady Buffs will play a midweek matchup at Lubbock Christian on Wednesday, Oct. 19.
