OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The No. 3 West Texas A&M Buffs recorded their first Lone Star Conference victory after defeating Oklahoma Christian 91-56 on Sunday afternoon at the Payne Athletic Center.  WT is now 14-2 overall while the Eagles drop to 4-8 with both programs sitting at 1-1 in conference play.Â

Five Buffs reached double figures led by
Zach Toussaint,
Addison Wallace, and
Kavon Booker with each posting 14 points with Booker bringing down a game-high eight rebounds. Â
Larry Wise and
Jesse Iweze each had 10 points. Â

The Eagles led off scoring in the opening half until
Kavon Booker's layup ignited 15-2 run for the Buffs take a 17-7 lead. Â
Addison Wallace completed a pass from
Julius Brown to push WT's lead out to 18. Â

With seven minutes left of the half,
Dalin Williams registered his 17
th block of the season after denying Nyx Madison's shot to preserve the Buffs lead. Â
Jesse Iweze finished the scoring for WT with a classic three-point play to make it 43-24 after 20 minutes.Â

After drawing the foul,
Hayden Blankley made both free throws at the charity stripe to lead off the second half to open a 12-3 run. Â
Trevone Fuller connected on his only 3-pointer of the night in the final seconds of the game to give the Buffs their largest lead of the game at 35.Â

WT shot 34-of-66 (51.5%) from the field, 13-of-27 (48.1%) from the deep and 10-of-16 (62.5%) at the charity stripe to go along with 38 rebounds, 19 assists, nine steals and five blocks.

WT will host Texas A&M-Commerce (10-1, 2-0 LSC) on Thursday, Jan. 6 at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.  Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
