WT Proudly Announces Naming Rights Deal with BritKare Home Medical

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M University Athletics is proud to announce that the historic home of Lady Buff Volleyball will have a new state-of-the-art court just in time for the 2021 season thanks to a generous gift from Britkare Home Medical.

"West Texas A&M is once again raising the bar due to the support we receive from our community," said WT's Director of Athletics Michael McBroom.  "BritKare has been a supporter of our Lady Buff Volleyball program for two decades, and they were the first call we made when this opportunity became available."

BritKare Court at The Box features a top-line Taraflex court surface that is widely used in Division I arenas, professional volleyball and was most recently featured at the just completed Tokyo Olympics.

"The surface itself is incredible and we believe will reduce injuries and fatigue with our players," McBroom said.  "BritKare understood the need and was quick to help us launch this project quickly over the summer and we are incredibly grateful to them."

"We could not be more thankful for the new Taraflex floor," head volleyball coach Kendra Potts said.  "I am grateful to our administration for approving to install this particular floor. It is the best in the world! We are one of only two Division II schools that play on this floor."

"I also want to thank BritKare for making this possible.  The Britten Family has strong ties to the WT Volleyball team and their continued support means so much to us as a volleyball program," Potts said. "To be able to continue to compete at The Box on a state-of-the-art floor is a dream for me personally. We can continue our strong tradition in our favorite place while providing our student-athletes the safest floor to compete on!"

BritKare Home Medical was established in the basement of Amarillo Diagnostic Care in 1995 with the goals to assist the medical community with the quality care of their patients.  The organization now has three locations based in Amarillo, Lubbock and Waco. BritKare Court at The Box will be formally dedicated with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 24 as the Lady Buffs open Lone Star Conference play against UT-Permian Basin.

The first game on BritKare Court will be Friday, Sept. 3, as the Lady Buffs host the annual BritKare Lady Buff Classic at The Box.  WT will open the tournament against Adams State at 11:30 a.m.  Single game and season tickets can be purchased here.
