The Lady Buffs would get the first and only run of the game as
Madison Johnson hit a shot through the right side to bring home
Gabriella Valforte from third. WT looked to add insurance in the bottom of the sixth with bases loaded but LCU's Taylor Franco got the batter swinging for her third strikeout of the game.
The Lady Chaps wouldn't go down without a fight as a single and sac bunt put the tying run on second but
Kyra Lair shut down LCU's offense as she caught the batter looking at the third strike to secure the shutout.
Lair (8-2) received the victory on the mound as the sophomore allowed just three hits with three walks and five strikeouts in seven complete innings.
