Three Reach Double Figures in No. 4 Buffs Win Over Lindenwood

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – No. 4 West Texas A&M extended their win streak out to eight on Saturday night with an 88-59 victory over Lindenwood at the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic.  The Buffs will head into Lone Star Conference play 13-1 while the Lions move to 5-6 (1-2 GLVC) on the season.

The Buffs wasted no time in Saturday's game, jumping out to a 14-0 lead in the first five minutes of action.  Jacoby Ross and Frazier Ott snapped the run with back-to-back layups but was immediately responded with a shot from the deep by Zach Toussaint to tipoff a 15-0 run to make it 29-4 at 10:57.

Sophomore Kavon Booker completed the classic three-point play after drawing the foul in the paint at the 1:31 mark before the Buffs put four consecutive points on the board.  Larry Wise registered his second score of the game followed by Julius Brown's driving layup to extended WT's lead to a game-high 33 at the intermission, 51-18.

The teams would trade baskets to open the second half before the Lions broke away with a 12-4 run to bring the game within 23 but shut down with a dunk from newcomer Addison Wallace.  Free throws from Dalin Williams and Booker pushed the lead back to 30 in the final five minutes of the game.

Brown had finished the night with a game-high 18 points, seven rebounds, four assists and one steal going 7-for-14 from the floor, 1-for-1 from three and 3-for-4 from the free throw line. Booker produced a career-high 17 points to go along with his five rebounds and three blocks while Toussaint reached double figures with 12.

WT will return to action for the Lone Star Conference opener on Dec. 31 against UAFS in Fort Smith, Ark. followed by a conference matchup against Oklahoma Christian on Jan. 2.
