WICHITA FALLS, Texas – West Texas A&M fell in the Lone Star Conference Semifinals on Friday night as the No. 17 Buffs came up short against Lubbock Christian in a 3-0 defeat. The Buffs will learn their postseason fate on Monday, Nov. 15 with the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Selection show scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CT.
Lubbock Christian set the tone of the match early with a goal in the 4
th-minute before the Chaps added their second score of the match to lead 2-0 at the half.
Despite the Buffs 10-4 shot advantage in the second half, WT was unable to shift momentum in favor of the Buffs. Senior
Stefan Andjelic registered the Buffs first chance to jump on the board in in the 59
th-minute but was stopped by the Chaps keeper Braxton Thorne to preserve the lead.
The Buffs continued to put pressure on LCU's defense with three additional shots on target but was responded with the Chaps final goal to secure the victory.
WT had 13 shots on the night led by Andjelic and
Chris Palomino with three shots each while
Tom Miles recorded one save.
