Potts and Staff Welcome Feather River’s Mere Nagase for the 2020 Season

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M head volleyball coach Kendra Potts has announced the addition of setter Mere Nagase for the 2020 campaign. The Oakland, California native joins Porsha Porath, Camy Jones, Londyn Coles, Lauren Marler and Corrin Davis in the signing class.
 
"We are extremely excited about Mere joining the Lady Buff Volleyball Program, she is no stranger to success and she finds a way to win!" said Potts "Not only is she extremely athletic but she brings in some intangibles that just come natural to her. Mere is going to be an exciting player to watch complete and will be a huge asset to us in the 2020 season and beyond."
 
Nagase comes to WT as a highly-decorated player, being named the California State MVP after winning the 2019 California Junior College State Championship at Feather River College. She was named an AVCA 1st Team All-American as well as the Golden Valley Conference Co-MVP and All NorCal 1st Team.
 
Mere started on her varsity volleyball team at San Leandro High School for four seasons. Throughout her high school career, she was name 1st Team WAC four times as being named Conference MVP in 2017. Nagase played for Xceleration Volleyball Club in the Bay Area and was named to the Junior Nationals All-Tournament during her 18's season.
 
Nagase is the daughter of Semisi and Wainise and she has five siblings. She is expected to major in Kineisiology at West Texas A&M.
