CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M announced today its football game against Abilene Christian has been canceled due to COVID-19 positive test results from several ACU football players. The game originally scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, at Wildcat Stadium in Abilene would have been the first meetings between the two programs since 2012. 
 
"While we are disappointed we won't have a chance to play next weekend in Abilene, we understand and appreciate ACU's commitment to the health of all participants," Director of Athletics Michael McBroom said. "We hope that their players who have tested positive are doing well and that as the season progresses, we will be able to reschedule the game."
 
The Buffs are slated to finish the season with five straight home games beginning on Saturday, Oct. 24, against Angelo State. They will host North American on Halloween before welcoming Missouri Western, Colorado Mesa and Pittsburg State in November.
