KINGSVILLE, Texas – Kylee Moore and Ruby Salzman homered in consecutive innings as No. 10 West Texas A&M dropped a 8-3 decision to No. 3 Texas A&M-Kingsville in the winner's bracket of the South Central Regional 1 on Friday afternoon in Kingsville, Texas. 
 
WT will play the winner of Oklahoma Christian and #11 Colorado Mesa at 7 p.m. in an elimination game.

The Lady opened the scoring in the bottom of the second inning on Salzman's 16^thhome run of the season taking a 0-2 pitch over the fence in left field. They would add to their lead the following on Kylee Moore's two-run shot to the palm trees in left. Alyx Cordell walked on six pitches before Moore connected on her 63^rdcareer home run to pass Renee Erwin into second in program history. They had a chance to add to the lead later in the inning after loading the bases with one out but came away empty handed. 
 
The Javelinas scored eight unanswered runs including five in the top of the sixth to hand the Lady Buffs their third loss in four tries in Kingsville, Texas. 
 
Starkey (16-6) was credited with the loss going 5 2/3 innings allowing seven runs (seven earned) on 10 hits with Kyra Lair going 1 1/3 inning in relief.
