COMMERCE, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M dropped the opening two frames before battling back in a five-set thriller during the Lone Star Conference Quarterfinals on Thursday night before falling to the Tarleton Texans at the TAMUC Fieldhouse (17-25, 26-28, 25-15, 26-24, 13-15) in front of 385 fans.
 
WT was led offensively by LSC Freshman of the Year Torrey Miller who had 22 kills on 58 swings with eight attack errors to hit .241 on the night followed by Selena Batiste (17) and Samantha Jordan (14) in double-digit kills, Gabby Emery dished out 28 assists to pace the WT offense while Chandler Vogel led the way in the back row with 27 digs. The Lady Buffs finished with 66 kills on 195 attempts with 19 attack errors to hit .241 with 59 assists, seven service aces, 95 digs and 10 blocks in the loss.
 
The Texans were led by Lauren Kersey with a match-high 20 kills on 40 swings with six attack errors to hit .350 on the night followed by Amber Strange (17) and Tatynana Tuialii-Umi (14) in double-digit kills, Kayla Brannon dished out a match-high 53 assists to go along with 14 digs for the double-double while Adriana Darthuy led all players with 30 digs in the win. TSU finished the night with 69 kills on 195 attempts with 23 attack errors to hit .236 on the night with 65 assists, five aces, 105 digs and seven blocks in the win.
 
The Lady Buffs now await their postseason fate with the announcement of the 64-team field for the NCAA Division II Volleyball Tournament on Monday, November 25th at 6:30 p.m. CT via an online selection show at NCAA.com
