HOW IT HAPPENED
The Buffs came out with purpose in the Lone Star Conference quarterfinal match as sophomore Kenny Brown nearly put the Buffs on the board in the sixth minute but his shot was saved by Dustdevil's keeper Josh Jones.  With under two minutes remaining in the half Liam Doyle tried to capitalize on a free kick after the Dustdevils were given a yellow card but his shot was blocked to keep the score level at the half.

TAMIU broke through the Buffs defense going up 1-0 in the 66th minute on a header from Ruben Nielsen.  The senior midfielder got on the end of Magnus Poulsen's pass to score the game-winner from 10 yards out to find the bottom left corner of the net.  The Buffs tallied three more chances to tie the game but each shot went over the top of the post.

WT finished the match with a 17-11 advantage in shots, three of them on target.  Brown had a team-high four shots with three on frame while Doyle and Grayson Ellett totaled three each.

Alexander Vencel posted six saves between the pipes for the Buffs.
