Hannah Kelley-Lusk caused the Grizzlies defense problems from the opening whistle recording three of her nine shots in the first five minutes but it was ASU who would score first on a counter attack in the 6th minute. Diana Cerillo found space on the left side before putting a line drive that found the back of the net to give the home team an early 1-0 advantage.
The Lady Buffs came close to finding an equalizer minutes later but Jacob and Samantha Silvestre's shot went just over the crossbar. Kelley-Lusk finally got WT on the board to tie the game at 1-1 in the 37th minute as the Farmington, N.M. native's second goal of the season came from just outside the penalty area with a curling shot to beat the keeper at the far post.
They continued to cause the Grizzlies defense problems in the second half with three more shots in the first 10 minutes. After a short spell of defending the Lady Buffs took the lead in the 72nd minute before adding an insurance goal less than a minute later. Jacob's second goal of the season at 71:08 with a line drive strike followed up with another goal 31 seconds later following a nice pass from Kelley-Lusk.
The Lady Buffs return to action on Sunday, Sept. 9, against Fort Lewis in Durango, Colo. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. CT.
