CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M and Texas A&M-Commerce put on a show for the national television audience for the Division II Basketball Showcase on Saturday afternoon as the Lions left the First United Bank Center in Canyon with a 59-55 win over the #8 Lady Buffs in front of 1,923 fans.

- West Texas A&M was led offensively by Lexy Hightower who went 9-of-16 from the floor including 2-of-6 from deep to score 20 points followed by Madison Parker with 18 to go along with seven rebounds in the loss.
- Brianna Wise went 4-of-13 from the floor and 6-of-6 from the free throw line to lead the Lions with 15 points followed by Jenna Price with 14.
 
FIRST HALF:
- The Lady Buffs went 8-of-17 (47.1%) from the floor including 1-of-3 (33.3%) from deep and 8-of-10 (80%) from the free throw line with 19 rebounds (two offensive, 17 defensive), four assists, 14 turnovers, four blocks and two steals in the opening half.
- Texas A&M-Commerce went 11-of-36 (30.6%) from the floor in the opening half including 3-of-10 (30%) from deep and 1-of-3 (33.3%) from the charity stripe with 17 rebounds (nine offensive, eight defensive), seven assists, five turnovers, no blocks and five steals.
 
SECOND HALF:
