CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M junior guard
Jordan Evans went 8-of-14 from the floor including 6-of-9 from behind the arc as the Houston native scored 30 points to lead the Buffaloes past Cameron in Lone Star Conference action, 87-82 in front of over 700 fans at the First United Bank Center in Canyon on Thursday night. The Buffs improve to 20-6 (8-5 LSC) on the season while the Aggies fall to 14-10 (7-7 LSC) overall.

The Buffs were led at the break by Evans who went 5-of-8 from the floor and 4-of-6 from deep to lead all players with 18 points at the break followed by
Eric Golightly Jr. with eight and
David Chavlovich with seven. WT went 12-of-28 (42.9%) from the floor including 7-of-13 (53.8%) from long range and 7-of-10 (70%) from the free throw line with 19 rebounds (six offensive, 13 defensive), 10 assists, four turnovers, no blocks and four steals.

Cameron went 13-of-32 (4036%) from the field in the first half including 4-of-11 (36.4%) from deep and 4-of-5 (80%) from the charity stripe with 19 rebounds (seven offensive, 12 defensive), six assists, six turnovers, two blocks and five steals. Pierre went 5-of-9 from the floor and 1-of-3 from deep to lead the Aggies with 11 points at the break.

WT went 24-of-54 (44.4%) from the floor including 11-of-23 (47.8%) from deep and 28-of-35 (80%) from the free throw line with 40 rebounds (11 offensive, 29 defensive), 16 assists, 15 turnovers, two blocks and six steals. Evans led the way for the Buffs with 30 points followed by Chavlovich with 20 and Golightly Jr. with 14 while
Skyler O'Laughlin grabbed 12 rebounds in the win.

The Aggies were led by Williams who went 8-of-9 from the field and 3-of-3 from deep to score 20 points followed by Tyus Momo (16), JV Long (14), Pierre (12) and Hall (11) in double figures. Cameron went 29-of-66 (43.9%) from the floor including 10-of-27 (37%) from behind the arc and 14-of-19 (73.7%) from the free throw line with 36 rebounds (11 offensive, 25 defensive), 15 assist, 11 turnovers, two blocks and nine steals.
