WTAMU Horse Center
The WT Horse Center covers 80 acres of land and is located approximately one mile from campus and contains classrooms, conference rooms and the coaching offices. It is home to the West Texas A&M University equestrian team. It also serves as a major facility for the WT Equine Industry program, which was formed in 1994, as well as the Horse Judging team, Stock Horse team and Horseman’s Association. The Lady Buffs have developed a strong history of success at their home facility in recent years. WT enjoyed a strong 2013 season en route to a Western IHSA National Championship and won its second-consecutive National Western Semi-Finals at the WT Horse Center in the spring of 2014. The Lady Buffs went on to finish fifth overall at this year’s IHSA National Championship in Western competition while featuring three individual National Champions and one Reserve Champion, including senior Julia Roberts who received the AQHA Cup as the Western High Point Rider.
