INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – The Buffaloes of West Texas A&M will be making an appearance at the NCAA Division II National Championship on November 18
th as they were awarded an at-large bid into the final race of the season announced on Monday afternoon by the NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Jake Krolick "Ultimately they were rewarded for the work they have done this year and their perseverance during that has been a rollercoaster fall."
The Buffs were selected as one of eight at-large selections following a fourth place showing at last weekend's South Central Regional Championship in Canyon. The South Central Region proved why it is knows as one of the top regions in the nation with seven teams heading to Evansville, Indiana. The top three finishing teams at the regional championship meets last weekend received an automatic bid while the final eight selections were announced today.
"We ran well this past weekend but can improve significantly up front and will need to in order accomplish our original goal of finishing in the Top-10" added Krolick "We will need big races from two-time All-American Geoffrey Kipchumba and Owen Hind along with consistent performances from Briggs Wittlake and Ryan Thomson. If Reid Splawn can be the same number five that he was last weekend, we will be very good and I am confident that he will be."
The East, Atlantic, West, South and Southeast regions weren't awarded an at-large selection while the South Central Region was awarded seven team spots (Adams State, CSU-Pueblo, Colorado Mines, Dallas Baptist, Rogers State, WT, Western State). Omer Along (Eastern New Mexico) and David Kimayio (UC-Colorado Springs) were awarded at-large individual selections to the championship.
Thirty-two teams were selected to participate in each championship. The top three, seven-person teams automatically qualified from each of the eight regions, for a total of 24 teams. Eight additional teams were selected at-large. A minimum of 24 additional individuals were selected to participate in each championship through an automatic qualifier and at-large selection process.
The championships will be held on Saturday, November 18 in Evansville, Indiana, at Angel Mounds. The University of Southern Indiana and the Evansville Sport Corporation will serve as the co-hosts of the championships. The women's race will begin at 11:15 a.m. Eastern time, followed by the men's race at 12:30 p.m. Eastern time.
