CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – West Texas A&M picked up seven All-American honors on Championship Saturday highlighted by a National Championship in the Women's Shot Put by freshman
Zada Swoopes to wrap-up the 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the Irwin Belk Complex in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Buffs finished the meet in 15
th place with a total of 16 points while the Lady Buffs finished sixth overall with a total of 31 points.

MEN
Abraham Seaneke picked up All-American honors in the men's Triple Jump as the junior registered a mark of 15.66m in his first attempt of the afternoon for a fourth place finish.
Quinton Sansing wrapped up his weekend in style as the freshman from Floresville finished fifth in the 400m Finals with a time of 46.29 to claim All-American honors.

Tobia Lahbi impressed in the 400m Hurdle Finals as the junior from Italy finished fourth overall with a time of 51.46 for All-American accolades.
Owen Hind wrapped-up action for the Buffs as the final competitor of the meet in the Men's 5,000m Finals as the senior capped off his stellar career in Maroon & White with a time of 14:16.92 to finish seventh overall and claim All-American honors.

Texas A&M-Kingsville claimed the 2018 Men's National Title with a total of 65 points followed by Ashland (51), Tiffin (50), St. Augustine's (42), Grand Valley State (39), Texas A&M-Commerce (37), Academy of Art (34), Pittsburg State (31.5), Angelo State (26), Colorado School of Mines (23) and Chico State (23) to round out the top ten. The Buffs finished with 16 total points to complete the meet in 15
th place.

WOMEN
Zada Swoopes started off Championship Saturday in style as she was the only freshman in the Top-9 finalists for the Women's Shot Put and the Whitewright, Texas native made her mark with a personal best throw of 16.52m in her fourth attempt of the afternoon to claim the National Title. The win gave the Lady Buffs their first outdoor Shot Put National Title in program history.

Valda Kabia picked up All-American honors in the 200m Finals as the junior from Richmond, British Columbia ran a time of 23.99 to finish fifth.
Norma Cunigan finished 14
th in the women's Discus finals with a mark of 44.66m in her second attempt of the night while Swoopes picked up another piece of hardware with an eighth place finish with a mark of 48.59m in her final attempt for All-American accolades.

Lincoln claimed the 2018 Women's National Championship with a total of 60 points followed by St. Augustine's (48.5), Angelo State (42.5), Grand Valley State (40.5), Adams State (390, West Texas A&M 31), New Mexico Highlands (26), Alaska Anchorage (25), Western State (25) and San Francisco State (21) to round out the top ten.
